Well, those them pups have grown and time has come to breed from them.
I did not intend to keep this girl, she went to somebody who was supposed to show her a lot, but as it turned out he couldn't manage and I bought her back. Ultimately it turned out that I did not show her much either, as I was busy with moving to another house right about time she was in her prime. She did win a placement (3rd) in a group though. She did not excell at the hunting trial, that is, did not untill she saw the boar. Did this liven her up!
Anyway, right there at the trial we met another barak, a boy, who although not impressive looking is all correct in important details - legs, coat, even has nice greenish colour. What made him special was that he was the best of the day, and in very unfavorable conditions (early spring and it did not rain for about three weeks, and wind blew for several days, everything bone dry) he was the only dog (out of about 30) to find game... he is also good with wild boars.
But what really made my day is when I peeked into the pedigrees. I have two champions among the ancestors of my dogs (sorry, could not get more, it was hard to find champions, they were never too popular with scenthounds in these here countries, and they even don't put up the "Ch" prefix when they earn it) and what has he got? The same two champions, both of them!
